Imagine you are attending Quilt Con and you find an artist has photoshopped herself into several pictures from the event. They are hilarious and a lot of people are talking about this #quiltconartist. If you are like me, you start to
stalk look for her pictures. It’s all fun and games until this happens:
Yep, that’s me on a sewing machine. And the #quiltconartist has photoshopped her way into the picture! This picture was the beginning of my interest in Samarra Khaja.
After following her on instagram and seeing some of her amazing creations (check out her KidnPlay high school portrait below), I became fascinated with her work. She pokes fun at the seriousness of our industry through playful graphics. Her fabric designs make my dorky heart go pitter patter and I want to play in her house!
