Podcast Episode #43: Cristy Fincher of Purple Daisies Quilting

Cristy Fincher

Cristy Fincher of Purple Daisies Quilting was one of the first people I reached out to when I wanted to learn more about paper piecing for my Learn More, Sew More challenge. She provided a very helpful tutorial on paperless paper piecing. As we got to know each other, we realized we had so many things in common. We both love purple. Our daughters share a name and a birth date. Our mothers have the same name and are both quilters. The list goes on. Whenever I was trying to learn more about a quilting technique, she is one of my go-to resources.

During the podcast, we talk about being the daughter of master quilter, Sharon Schamber, what skills she recommends for all quilters, and her thoughts on teaching. She mentions her Dutch Darlings quilt, pictured below:

  1. I’ve been meaning to tell you how much I enjoy your podcast. Some I’ve listened to more then once – the tips and information have been influential in how I’ve improved my technique and confidence as a newer quilter – although later in life. Thank you for your informal but very professional podcast! ?
