When I lived in Los Angeles, I had heard of a lovely boutique store called French General specializing in French style home decor. I wasn’t at the point in my life where I was looking to style a home quite yet so I did not seek out the store. It took a indigo dying class at Craftcation before I had the opportunity to meet French General’s owner, Kaari Meng. Teamed up with her sister Molly Meng and a friend, Kaari introduced us to different indigo dying methods as well as an idea of what she might teach with more time. I enjoyed my time over the dye bath and started following Kaari on social media to learn more about her upcoming workshops.
As the curator of this month’s Quilty Box, Kaari and I spent time talking about what she included in her box, her career working with jewelry, embrodiery, quilting, interior design, papercraft and scrapbooking along with her pursuit of things that make her happy. I hope you enjoy the episode.
