liesl-gibson-graphic

Today’s podcast guest is Liesl Gibson. Having trained at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Liesl worked for both Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren. After having her daughter, nicknamed S, she started her own pattern company, Liesl + Co, which now includes Oliver & S, Lisette, Straight Stitch Society, and Liesl & Co. Working with her husband, Todd, she is currently living and working in Madrid, Spain after living in New York since the early 2000’s.

Committed to well written patterns and a complete sewing experience in a package, her patterns are treasured by sewists. The whimsical drawings on the Oliver & S patterns, clear illustrations for almost every step and her thoughtful sewing technique create “tried and true” patterns.

In addition to her pattern companies, she has designed fabric lines for Robert Kaufman, written two books and teaches for Creativebug. During our podcast, we talk about working with her husband, the importance of living genuinely and why you should buy and make what you love.
