Benjamin {patchwork throw]

My dear friend gave birth to her baby boy, Benjamin! The fantastic part of having a scheduled cesarean procedure is the ability to schedule the baby’s arrival. It *should* mean that your friends have plenty of time to finalize your gifts… in theory! After debating several different quilt blocks and colors, I felt such pressure to make something as special as my friend. Before I left for Quilt Con, I had a pack of 5″ solid squares sitting on my cutting table. I was fortunate enough to bring home a fat quarter bundle of Cotton + Steel’s newest line, Cozy. As I was unpacking, they landed next to each other. It was kismet. I cut them the fat quarter bundle into 5″ squares and decided a simple patchwork design would be best.

Since it is still pretty warm in San Diego and we are headed into summer, I decided to make a two sided throw without binding or batting. Hopefully, it can keep Benjamin comfy and not too warm. I can’t wait to take a picture with him on it!

      Hi, Helen:

I didn’t use a pattern. I sewed five inch squares together until I found a size that I liked. I hope that helps!
