Fascinated by creative people who have a well defined aesthetic, I often talk about “finding your artistic voice” on the podcast. For my monthly Designer Profile in Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine, I interviewed Suzy Williams, whose clean, bold and modern design aesthetic can be seen in her patterns, photographs and website. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Suzy started out as a graphic designer. After working in the field for eight years, she started to burn out and reached for her sewing machine as solace. Suzy Quilts was born!
She talks about her mini quilt series, Sew Mojo, her bright and cheery design aesthetic along with her fantastic City Guides, where she uncovers the fabric, food and fun of a new city. The touchy subject about making money as a maker is also discussed along with the lighter subject of what she would do with a commitment free afternoon. I loved learning more about Suzy and hope you will too!
Issue 48 of Love Patchwork & Quilting is now available in the United States or online. You can also subscribe to the magazine here.
