I vividly remember the first time I found Giuseppe Ribaudo, also known as Giucy Giuce, on Instagram. I came across one of his famous rainbow color ordered pictures set amongst the trees. Eager to learn more about him, I searched for his website or something beyond his Instagram account. I found nothing. Disappointed but excited about his work, I went back through all of his pictures on Instagram and found a creative, kind soul whose eye for detail and color impressed me.
Since I was left unsatisfied in only learning about his work through social media, I hosted him on the podcast in 2015. His laugh is infectious and his story kept me engaged. Since our podcast, I have been lucky enough to spend time with him several times, moderate a panel at Quilt Con about diversity in the quilting world, watch him venture into working with Andover Fabrics, develop his own pattern line and more. It was well beyond time to profile his work for Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine and share his beautiful soul and work with a larger audience.
