Me Made May 2015

MMM 2015 logo

On Instagram (I really might need an intervention for my Instagram addiction at some point…), I discovered a Me Made May challenge.  It has a few hashtags for the event (#memademay, #memademay2015, #mmmade2015) but the event encourages people to wear their handmade items during the month of May.  (Here is the official sign up.)  At first, I tried to ignore the event.  I was concerned I didn’t have enough handmade things and there would be a LOT of selfies involved.  I did not want to “stage” pretty selfies for an entire month.  But my friend, Meighan, inspired me to try and just keep it “real life”.  So, here it goes…

I, Sandi (, sign up as a participant of Me Made May 2015. I endeavor to wear a me-made garment at least 4 days a week.  I will chronicle the outfits on instagram and keep it “real”.

Here are the outfits I have worn so far:

Bess Top (pattern can be found here)

An unblogged muslin for a tank (pattern can be found in the Magic Pattern Book by Amy Barickman).  I will be journaling more about this book later this month.

Crafting a Rainbow (who is sewing from patterns around the world!!!)

Are you participating?  What would you like to make?

  1. I love your pics! My next purchase is Grainline’s Tiny Pocket Tank! I hear you about the selfie bit. That’s why I like that Zoe specifically said its not about #OOTD that sealed it for me. I don’t have enough to participate everyday, but it’s definitely opened up my eyes and is an achievable goal for me over the next year. XO.

  2. Hmmm, I tried leaving a comment but it may have fallen into the abyss. OK, first lol to the way you link to my post! I also felt the same way about the selfie issue, but then was so assured by Zoe’s post (Creator of MMM) that it’s not about an #OOTD. How cool is that? I love these pics of you btw! My next pattern purchase is Grainline’s Tiny Pocket Tank! (I bought fabric for it at SuperBuzzy during Craftcation)!

I can’t wait to see your Tiny Pocket Tank! I *might* have bought the Scout Tee from Grainline last night… 🙂

  3. Well, if this is the result of your Instagram addiction, then keep it up, I say! Great tops. Yeah, celebrate that you made them. Also, I just discovered the foldover elastic tutorial. I’ve been wanting a way to line t-shirt sleeves when I do upcycling projects. Thanks!

You rock!!! Thank you for supporting my instagram addiction. I’m not sure there is a good rehab for that addiction!!! 🙂 And let me know how it goes with the foldover elastic. 🙂
