Podcast Episode #20: Jenny Rushmore of Cashmerette

Jenny Rushmore on the Crafty Planner podcast

Plus size garment making is near and dear to my heart. When I learned about Jenny and her website Cashmerette, I knew I wanted her on the podcast. What I didn’t know was how much I would love our conversation!

First of all, Jenny has the best accent! I loved hearing words like “rubbish”. (What can I say? She’s adorable!)

Secondly, I love that our conversation led us to topics like size acceptance, society’s perception of larger women, the myths of garment sewing and the sustainability of the sewing and fashion industries. These are such important conversations. Jenny encouraged me to keep thinking about these issues and gave me a different perspective.

Lastly, it was great to hear from other women who are following their dreams. Life is not a dress rehearsal so let’s make the most of it. 🙂

As a special treat for listeners, Jenny is offering a 20% discount on all of her books until Wednesday, July 22nd. You can buy them here.

  8. I’ve been listening to your podcast for a while now (well into 2017!) and while wandering around Jenny’s work I stumbled into this podcast with you (I guess itunes just downloads episodes from when you subscribe – earlier ones you just have to find on the creators web site!) which I thoroughly enjoyed especially considering where Jenny WAS when she did this interview with you and where she is now! I love Cashmerette patterns – I have almost all of them and I’ve taken both of Jenny’s online classes which are excellent. Thanks for another great podcast!
