When I think of Ann Kelle Designs, I immediately smile. It is hard not to when you see these bright, simple and cheery patterns.
I always thought anyone who could create such adorable designs must be a fun and playful person. After spending some time with Kelle Boyd, the designer behind Ann Kelle
, I realized Kelle is all of those things and more. Kelle embodies her designs through her infectious laugh, perspective on the world and things she holds dear to her heart.
During our conversation, we explore how her childhood dreams of being a designer were revisited after a stressful work experience, how her parent’s love for music influenced her Beatbox fabric line and the story behind her Girlfriends series. Because we share a background in public policy and a desire to make things better in the world, I really enjoyed spending time with Kelle and getting a small glimpse of what excites her. I hope you enjoy our laughter and remember how your childhood dreams never really leave you.
If you would like to win a fat quarter bundle of Kelle’s Girlfriends
fabric line, leave a comment below telling us what you would like to see Kelle draw for her next fabric line. I will keep the giveaway comments open until Monday, February 22nd.
