Hi! My name is Sandi Hazlewood. Trained as a city planner, I grew up going to fabric stores, attending quilt shows and cooking for my family’s businesses. I became obsessed with paper crafts and as a scrapbooker, I designed page accents for several stores, taught design classes along with managing a local store’s teaching program. My first foray into textile work came when I learn to knit and crochet. After making scarves, ponchos, hats and blankets, sewing and quilting became my passion when I learned about the modern quilt movement.

After a trip to a modern fabric store, I was determined to find like minded crafters in my community and am one of the founding members and first President of the San Diego Modern Quilt Guild. I continue my exploration of other creatives in the field through my “Crafty Planner” podcast and writing Designer Profiles for Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine.

Married to an extremely supportive and talented husband, Mr. Bear, we have a daughter, Miss No No.
